I was thrilled to see the Otomi inspired fabric on Spoonflower. I knew that a quilt with this fabric in different colors would be great. I ordered a yard of five different color hues. I had several solids, a colorful chervon print and busy bird and flower print. I think there are 15 different fabrics in the quilt.
My next struggle was finding the right pattern for the quilt. I struggled whether it was better to have large swatches of the fabric on a quilt or cut it all up and let the busy design be the highlight of the quilt.
I landed on Bizzy Kid by Cluck Cluck Sew design by Allison R. Harris. When it was all said and done, I’m not sure I made the right decision. I love the colors and busy design but I don’t think it highlights the Otomi fabric.
I have completed the top. I need to work on the back. I still have lots of fabric remaining. I think the back must feature the Otomi design.

I finished the top on January 13, 2013.
That top is so beautiful, I love the fabrics! I would never have thought to use them the way you did - thanks for sharing.
